I am realizing that exercise isn’t my issue, it is eating.  When I am rocking out the healthy eating the weight melts off.  This week I am focusing on eating at home and making healthy meals.  Also, as a family we eat out WAY to much.  This week my goal is to eat out just twice this coming week.

3. Try to motivate others to join in on trying to lose weight

4. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

This weeks theme is re-dedication.  This past week with exercise has been an off week due to a few injuries.  On Friday while I was swimming I had a pain and I am assuming that it was a pinched nerve.  I haven’t gotten in the pool since.  During this week I also reached my goal of running a 5K.  Well the next day I realized I pulled my calf muscle and had to take a few days off from the gym. I am now finally healed and ready to get back on track.

I am starting to notice a huge difference in the way my clothes fit and the way my body looks.  Also, by adding Bikram yoga my flexibly is improving and I truly hope to continue yoga even after my groupon is finished.

Since I have finished my goal of completing a 5K my next goal is an 8K.

Even though I had a rough week I am ready to re-dedicate myself to my goal!

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: Week 13 & 14

Well, there is a reason I didn’t post last week.  I was embarrassed because I gained 3lbs.  The whole day I went back and forth on whether to post or not.  There are many excuses of why I gained weight but that doesn’t matter.  The good news is that I worked hard and made it back to my weight at week 12.

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal. (BMI info from this website)

Starting BMI: 24.7
Starting weight: 158

Last Week’s Weight: 152
Current Weight:152

This weeks plans:

Thursday: Upper Body and Swim
Friday: Run
Saturday/Sunday: Bikram and core
Monday: Run
Tuesday: Lower Body and Swim
Wednesday: Run

I would also love to add a spin class in there.  This past week I did my first spin class and it was AWESOME!  The only problem is when.  This coming week shouldn’t be an issue since it is Spring Break but finding a class to attend on a regular basis will take some planning.

3. Try to motivate others to join in on trying to lose weight

Bloggers I follow that are participating: If you want to join in just leave me a comment, so I can follow your progress too!  It is amazing many of my friends and family are jumping on the weight loss train with me.  Right now DH, MIL, my mom, and bestie are on the weight loss path.  It is great to have such a great support system.

This was a great work out week minus not doing my core work out.  My body is finally in the groove and the weight is starting to melt off.  Right now there is a good balance of eating right and also enjoying eating (special treats).

Another great week!

This week’s plan:

Saturday or Sunday: Bikram Yoga, Core, and Maybe a swim too.

The one thing I am adding to my goals this week has nothing to do with weight loss but more about getting control of my life.  We have never been great at maintaining a clean house.  I do clean but not on a regular basis.  I would love for my house to be ready for guests at any time.  This weeks goal is to declutter for 15mins a day, pick up playroom, sink dish free, and kitchen floor swept.

3. Try to motivate others to join in on trying to lose weight

I am about ready to finish my Couch to 5K in about a week.  Now I need to find a 5K to run in the next couple weeks.

Hoping to have some pics to share next week.  Also you can check out my Bikram Yoga post to see my before and after Yoga pics.

Bikram Fun

About 2 weeks ago a scored a great groupon deal for the Bikram studio near my house.  About 3 or 4 years ago DH was big into Bikram and actually did a 30day challenge.  During that time period I gave it one shot and decided it wasn’t for me.  Also, I didn’t like DH doing Bikram yoga because it is in 105 degree yoga studio.  At that point I was very concerned about his swimmers.  Now 3 or 4 years later I am the one attending these classes and enjoying them (at least my first one).

To my surprise I actually enjoyed the class and tolerated the heat well.  During my first class I only had to sit down a few times and did most of the poses.  I have 9 more classes left on my groupon and I am anticipating wanting to continue after it is finished.  Unfortunately, it is VERY expensive and I don’t think I can afford to go more then once or twice a month after my 10 classes is up.  Heading back for more fun next weekend!

Happy Birthday Ant (A little late)

It is hard to believe my little peanut is 2 years old.  It is crazy to think of how much he has grown in the last 2 years.  He was 6lbs 13oz and he is 27lbs!!!  My big boy!

Weight: 27lbs

Height: 33″ (3″ away from 3′)

Breastfeeding: Yes, he is down to 2 or 3 sessions a day.  He is also completely night weaned!!!

New Tricks: He is starting to use the potty.  Sometimes we are successful and others not so.  Also, he is starting to problem solve.  He has discovered where we hide the iPad (this kid loves the ipad).  He took the stool over to the cabinet and was able to reach the iPad.  Smart kid!

Vocabulary: Ant’s vocab is INSANE and I can’t count how many words he knows because he learns new words daily.  He is forming 3+ word sentences now and starting to use you, I, and me correctly.  My favorite sentence he says is “Mama hold you.”  It is too cute when he says this.  Also, “Fireman slide down pole.”

Ant is also singing songs and saying nursery rhymes.  I think he sings so much because we are constantly singing songs with him.  His current favorite is is “Wheels on the bus.”  I will have to take a video of him singing a song to share.

Sleep: Ant has been sleeping through the night since we night weaned.  Ever once in awhile he wakes up but DH will put him back down without nursing.

Favorite Toy: Right now is his little people school bus.  I found it at the consignment shop for $5!!!

*************************************************************************************************

Ant’s party was great.  I learned to keep them small and I was sad I couldn’t invite everyone but our house is just too small.

Here is the fire truck cake!

It was a great party and Ant enjoy having his friends there to celebrate his birthday.  We are still singing happy birthday.

I finally took a picture last week and will hopefully have some visible results to share very soon.

I was a little worried about this week because I didn’t eat well.  The difference now is even when I am having an off day I am making better food choices.  Another thing that is helping is that I have been ramping up my metabolism by building my lean muscle mass. 5lbs down and 10lbs to go.  I am 1/3 of the way to my goal!!!

AF FINALLY!

Well, AF has finally showed her red face.  Once I confirmed that I wasn’t pregnant, I knew what had happened.  When I first started using My Fitness Pal, my calorie setting was to low by about 200 calories.  It took me about 2 weeks to figure out what the problem was and once I added the calories in I instantly felt better.  The timing was just perfect to mess up my cycle by 2 weeks and AF came just when I expected her.  I will admit I am happy to see AF.  I really didn’t want to call my OB.

*Ant birthday post coming soon!

Sunday: Off Day (Swam and Core)
Monday: Run (Yup and I added a Yoga class)

Awesome week!!! I am so proud that I lost weight this week because my eating was not great but I was mindful of everything I put in my mouth.

This week’s plan:

Thursday: Swim and Upper Body
Friday: Run
Saturday: Swim and Core
Sunday: Off or Make up for Sat
Monday: Run and Yoga
Tuesday: Swim and Lower Body

This week my focus is going to be more on my diet changes and going to bed earlier.  I have been doing great with eating a salad with lunch but at dinner if we are out I miss my evening salad.  Also, focus more on eating at home and eat few meals out.  The fact that I am not eating perfectly and still losing weight is great!  By the end of this I want to have developed great eating and exercise habits to last a lifetime.

3. Try to motivate others to join in on trying to lose weight

4. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

I am going to take a picture next week and post it!  DH has been saying he is noticing the difference and I would like to say I notice the difference too.

On another not AF is still not here, today is CD 42 and still no signs she is coming.  With the exercise changes I think I have scared AF away.  At this point I am still not worried and actually enjoying the break, even though I would prefer a break from AF for a better reason.

CD 37

You read that right, my cycle is on cd 37.
Do I think I am pregnant? Nope
Am I worried? Nope

As soon as AF was late I suspected it was due to the changes in my diet and exercise. When I started using my fitness pal I didn’t take into account my breastfeeding calories (about 200). This didn’t agree with my body, the lack of calories. I was foggy brain, biotchy, and exhausted.

After adding those calories back in I have been great. I’m sleep more and I am more active. So, now I am just waiting. I figured give AF 2weeks and she will show. She has 5 days.  Then maybe I will call my OB. Till then I am going to enjoy life AF free.
